Noticeably, there are more women who attended school in Italy. During the year of 1950, there are only 7% of girls in between the ages of fourteen and seventeen who went to school, and there are only 12% of boys are going to school. While in 1998-99 there are about 84% of the girls and only 81% of the boys attended high schools. It was during the 1990s where girls outnumbered the percentage of boys attending classes.
