School Field Trip to Italy
The Pahiatua’s Tararua College’s particularly in the art department and its students have already set a plan and even scheduling their upcoming educational trip to Italy by 2011 of April. But the greater challenge that they faces on is to raise about $118,000 in the midst of economic recession in order to send about 17 rural students to Italy for their art educational trip. According to Lisa Purda who is the head of the art department of this Pahiatua’s Tararua College that her students were entirely demonstrate an outstanding talents in art field. As a result, the students are very much excited of going its trip to Italian College trip in order to see several works of arts that been created by the worlds greatest artist. Lisa Purda said that they strongly feel that these rural kids don’t get the same opportunities upon traveling on overseas that most city students have already experience.
With that, the group is planning to have a stop over in Dubai in order for the students be able to experience its first hand culture that is not based on Western only but rather go on for the nation in Florence, Venice, Rome, Milan, Verona, and Pisa. In which, they will be able to see the original artworks that been made by Leonardo de Vinci, Botticelli, and Michelangelo. As of now, the students had just already raised about $10,000 for its educational trip. So part of that experience was entirely for educational learning that they need to do for themselves and that they were will be nobody to give some handouts on them. So, it will be their initiative upon coming up some aspects that will support for their fundraising towards going to Italy that includes selling their old clothing, bottles, newspapers, or performing a live musical jamming.
The musical live jamming was already been organize with the support of the jazz vocalist or singer who is Aivale Cole. In which, he will be performing in the Rodger Fox Big in the Regent of Broadway theatre of Palmerston North for about 3pm. The income of these musical jamming will go the Tararua College educational art trip to College Italy. According to Mrs. Purda that this Ms Cole is very much generous and she wanted to support these art students in order to expand their educational learning especially upon seeing the prestigious work of art in Italy galleries. The tickets that been sold ranges from $15 to $35.
